On the occasion of Orbán’s interview, our Mozartean tribute is moving briefly on Hungarian soil: we listen to the highly successful piano adaptation of one of the Requiem’s parts. Franz Liszt’s transcription of Mozart’s Lacrimosa is performed by Leslie Howard.

Does the fact that Liszt transcribed the piece, give it a different feel? I do think it felt different than what I’ve been hearing during your tribute.
I do like it a lot, whatever.
It couldn’t happen another way, the transcriber adapts the notes somehow into his own mindset. This is not always a successful procedure though. The same composer [Liszt] has done a much worse job transcribing another part [‘Confutatis’] of Mozart’s Requiem.
Ahhh, thank you!
