MASSIVE ATTACK : MAN NEXT DOOR [MEZZANINE, 1997]

Οι Massive διασκευάζουν καθηλωτικά το ρέγγε χιτ του John Holt από τα late ‘60s. Στα samples περιλαμβάνονται τα ντραμς του John Bonham απ’ το “When The Levee Breaks” των Zeppelin, και ένα επιβραδυμένο απόσπασμα [“drip drip drip”] προς το τέλος του κομματιού από το “10:15 Saturday Night” των Cure.

Massive rearrange John Holt’s reggae hit from the late ‘60s, in an engaging way. Among the samples here, we hear John Bonham’s drums from Zeppelin’s “When The Levee Breaks” and a slowed down fragment from The Cure’s “10:15 Saturday Night” [“drip drip drip”], towards the end of the song.

There is a man that live next door
In my neighborhood
In my neighborhod
And he gets me down
He gets in so late at night
Always a fuss and fight
Always a fuss and fight
All through the night
I’ve got to get away from here
This is not a place for me to stay
I’ve got to take my family
We’ll find a quiet place
Hear the pots and pans they fall
Bang against my wall
Bang against my wall
No rest at all
He gets in so late at night
Always a fuss and fight
Always a fuss and fight
All through the night
I’ve got to get away from here
This is not a place for me to stay
I’ve got to take my family
We’ll find a quiet place
There is a man that live next door
In my neighborhood
In my neighborhood
And he gets me down
He gets in so late at night
Always a fuss and fight
Always a fuss and fight
All through the night
Got to get a way out
Oh
Oh, my, my mind
