Ακούμε τρία tracks από το άλμπουμ Sub-Stance των Βρετανών post punk rockers Department S (το όνομα τους παρμένο από το αγγλικό σίριαλ των ‘60s, έδρα του γκρουπ το Λονδίνο). Το άλμπουμ δεν κατάφερε να κυκλοφορήσει τη στιγμή της ηχογράφησής του το 1991, ένεκα διαφωνιών με την εταιρία (Stiff) για την κατεύθυνσή του. Αυτό οδήγησε στη διάλυση του γκρουπ παρά την επιτυχία των πρώτων του σινγκλ όπως, κυρίως, του μικρού minimal αριστουργήματος με τίτλο ‘Is Vic There?’ που ακούμε πρώτο : ένα τραγούδι με υποδειγματικά τεταμένη ατμόσφαιρα, ακολουθούμενο από άλλα δύο της ίδιας περιόδου. Το άλμπουμ θα κυκλοφορούσε σαν compilation με πρόσθετο υλικό δυο δεκαετίες αργότερα. 🔴 🔴 We listen to three tracks from the album Sub-Stance by British post punk rockers Department S (their name is taken from the English TV series of the 60s, the group’s headquarters was London). The album failed to be released at the time of its recording in 1981, due to disagreements with the label (Stiff) about its direction. This led to the breakup of the group despite the success of their first singles, notably the little minimal jewel entitled ‘Is Vic There?’ that we hear first: a song with an exemplary tense atmosphere, followed by two others from the same period. The album would bee finally released two decades later as a compilation, with additional material.
