Ο ηθοποιός – παρουσιαστής [Real Time With Bill Maher, στο HBO], σε μια σκληρή, πίσω από το φλέγμα του, επίθεση εναντίον της “σταλινικής” cancel culture… με αφορμή κάποια απίθανα στιγμιότυπα στους φετινούς Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες : ο σκηνοθέτης της τελετής έναρξης απολύθηκε ώρες μετά τη λήξη της, γιατί κάποιος ανακάλυψε ένα αστείο για το Ολοκαύτωμα σε μια κωμωδία που είχε σκηνοθετήσει το 1998.
Πριν από αυτόν είχε απολυθεί ο μουσικός διευθυντής της τελετής, γιατί, σε μια συνέντευξη παραδέχτηκε ότι, σαν παιδί …έκανε μπούλινγκ στους συμμαθητές του.
Σημείωση Νο 1 : ο Bill Maher είναι μια από τις επιφανείς liberal προσωπικότητες των ΗΠΑ. Έχει ακουστεί προ διετίας, στο ίδιο σόου, να εύχεται μια οικονομική ύφεση ως ύστατο μέσο για την απομάκρυνση του Ντόναλντ Τραμπ από την εξουσία.
Νο 2 : οι άνθρωποι που βρίσκονται πίσω από / στηρίζουν την cancel culture, είναι οι ίδιοι που επικαλούνται συνεχώς την Επιστήμη, που αποφασίζουν και διατάσσουν με την ίδια σταλινική σκληρότητα λοκντάουν, υποχρεωτική μασκοφορία και social distancing.
Αν αυτό ξεπερνά την εμβέλεια του σχολιασμού του BM, καλό είναι εμείς να το θυμόμαστε.

I read an interesting article about how the moderates enable the Stalinist cancel culture, with their not taking a stance and either not voting or being fooled into voting for many of the socialists, who work hard to appeal to the moderates, lying to them about their true agenda and the moderates not caring enough to really dig into what the socialists positions and agendas really are. I have to agree.
An example is the New Mexico Supreme Court, the most liberal and socialist of all the states in the USA. Way worse that California, if you can believe it. They put a law on the ballet a few years ago that was carefully worded so the ballot initiative read like it would improve processing criminals in the court system, and boost our law enforcement. But when you looked into what the law would really do, it was an end run around the bail system, making it so many criminals didn’t have to post bail to get out of jail while waiting for trial, basically turning the criminals back on to the streets, where they simply disappeared, until they got caught again committing another crime. Basically a catch and release law. It also made it illegal for citizens and business owners to confront petty thieves on the street or in a business and hold them for the police. Basically, you either shoot and kill petty thieves if you catch them in the act and claim self defense, or standby as they clean out your business waiting for the police to arrive.
The moderates didn’t bother to look into what the law would really do, and taking it at the face value of the wording on the ballot, overwhelming voted Yes! I voted No. When the law went into effect and the moderates discovered the consequences of the law, they were up in arms about being deceived. Well. It was to late. They should have been up in arms about the law when it was put on the ballot.
I agree 100% about the moderates.
Μπορούμε,βέβαια,να μιλήσουμε και για “σταλινικούς” που αν γίνονταν δεκτές οι “εισηγήσεις” τους απο τον Στάλιν,κατα την περίοδο του Β’ Π.Π.,οι Ναζί θα εισέβαλλαν στην Αμερική μέσω Σοβιετικής Ένωσης και ο ίδιος μπορεί και να κινδύνευε απο καμιά “αποκόλληση μύστακος” ή “moustache cancellation”😸…
Πράγματι. Γενικώς το χάος που επικρατούσε στην Ευρώπη τω καιρώ εκείνω, η ποικιλότητα των προσεγγίσεων και η διαρκής ρευστότητα των επιλογών καθιστούν τη σημερινή παρουσίαση της περιόδου, με τους αυστηρά καθορισμένους ρόλους “καλών”, “κακών”, “νικητών” και “νικημένων”, ένα ακόμα ανέκδοτο.
