Oh my! Wow!
OMG! I didn’t realize he died at 50!
He died at 57. And in the final years of his life, the music he wrote, inconceivable for his time, was music looking straight into the 20th century. Listening to some of the “avant garde” contemporary composers, someone has to laugh thinking of Beethoven’s last five quartets. These of course will be the climax of my tribute – de facto limited, I wish it could last a year! God willing, I’ ll come up with the proper one in 2027 [200th anniversary of this death]. Thank you!
Well, I for one am enjoying Beethoven’s birthday month here on Oannes. Crazy, but 2027 will be here faster than we know.
