Zeni Geva stands for “violence of money” in Japanese. The band is prominent in the Tokyo noise scene.
We hear a song from their Freedom Bondage album of 1995. Steve Albini is producing. King Crimson’s influence is apparent on this song.

Never heard of the Noise Scene. Is it unique to Tokyo?
Anyway, sure got a charge out of this. I like it very much, and the King Crimson influence is not lost on me. I’m a huge fan of King Crimson.
Not unique in Tokyo. This “scene” comes a long way back from the DADA experiments with mixing music with noise in the 1910s and 1920s. Of course this would be an influence decades later to certain rock genres such as industrial, no wave etc. An artist unexpectedly associated with this idiom is …Lou Reed with his eloquently titled album “Metal Machine Music” – totally unlistenable stuff if you ask me, like most of the “noise” in general. Zeni Geva may be related to the scene but fortunately they are pretty musical.
That is very interesting. Don’t know “Metal Machine Music”, but I quite like Lou Reed.
You wouldn’t like metal machine music, trust me. It’s 99.9% …metal machine and 0.1% music.
I trust you!
