ROLLING STONES : BRAND NEW CAR [1994]

Always in the context of car – related music, with hear a song from
Voodoo Lounge, first album released by the Stones after Bill Wyman’s departure.

I got a brand new car
And I like to drive real hard
I got a brand new car
And I’m feeling good so far
Take her on the highway for a little spin
I want to see the kind of shape she’s in
And I got a brand new star
Jack her up baby, go on, open the hood
I want to check if her oil smells good
Mm, smells like caviar
Mm, give her some stick
Push her too far
Right to the brink
Hear the motor running
Yeah, she’s right in sync
Tell me if she’s thirsty
Would she like a drink?
And I’m stopping at this bar
Slinky like a panther
You can hear her purr
Touch her on the seat
Go on, feel the fur
And I, I got a brand new star (yeah, that’s right)
Mm, feel the juice
Foot to the floor
Take some abuse
Oh, I got a brand new car
And I drive her in the dark
And I, I got a brand new car
Mm, I think I’ll stop and park (alright)
Ah, send my best regards
Come here, come here darling
I, yeah my craft new car
Come on and let me, I like to drive it

Great tune. Continuing the innuendo, I had a Mazda RX-8 before I got my current MX-5 RF. The RX-8 was my compensation Wankel which I had to keep revved up and hard, driving it like a maniac. Rotary engines need to be red lined as much as possible when driving them to keep carbon deposits from building up on the ports. Wankels red line at 8,000 RPM. While they can go much faster than 150 mph (241 kph), they have to be governed at 150 mph to be street legal in the USA. RX-8s are fast, fun cars to drive but take a lot of special care not required of piston engines. Basshunter drives an orange and black RX-8 in Angel in the Night: https://youtu.be/DC9Ar8gYNa4.
