The third part of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No 1 [“Titan”] begins with a minor variation of the Jewish song ‘Bruder Jakob’ – perhaps the composer’s reference to his Jewish roots. Clarinetist Giora Feidman, known from Schindler’s List, takes Mahler’s piece and adapts it for klezmer band [Jewish traditional eastern European music]. On the album inadvertently is stated that this is part 2 of the symphony. It is the 3rd.
