From elf, ghost or demon, to a monstrous, material creature, Goblin’s “nature” [a slight oxymoron when we speak of a supernatural form of life] is diverse, depending on the region where the legend is housed – and there are plenty of them.
Bohemian composer Antonin Dvorak’ s symphonic poem is referring to one diabolical entity, which traps its victim’s soul in an upturned teacup.

Enjoyable. What makes him a Bohemian composer??
The simple fact that he was born in Bohemia, which is a part of Czechia. 😊
You can bet he was a true “bohemian” also : he was one of the greatest composers of his time [1841-1904] famous throughout Europe.
He was even invited in the USA where he spent three years [1892-5] as director of the “National Conservatory of Music of America”.
His 9th Symphony, “From The New World”, which he composed while in the US, includes elements of American music.
He went so far as to make this prophecy : “the future of American music lies in the so-called Negro Melodies”!
OMG! I had no idea there was actually a place called Bohemia. He had a great career.
His prophecy has come true. He had insight!
