Παράδειγμα το ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ που διαλέγω από αυτό. 🍄 🍄 Seeing Diana Krall’s Christmas Songs album from twenty years ago – a musician of whom, incidentally, I was never a huge fan – I had wondered about the point of yet another, the umpteenth version of these particular songs. An initially reluctant listen showed me I was wrong. Because her covers/interpretations here are among the most unadorned and heartfelt I’ve ever heard. An example is ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’, which I’m picking from the album.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on our troubles
Will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yuletide gay
From now on our troubles
Will be miles away,
Here we are as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore, ah
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us, once more,
Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now
Here we are as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us, once more
Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough,
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now
