VANGELIS : ALPHA [ALBEDO 0.39, 1976]

I prefer the lyrical and introverted
Vangelis’ compositions than the grandiose projects with which his name is mainly associated.
This is one of the precious moments in his composing career, and one that, fortunately, has been
adequately noted by the audience.

This should be a movie theme!

Certainly. It gives me an astronaut’s perspective: feeling so lonesome and small, facing the vastness of universe.
Of course Vangelis had his “little” share of successful soundtracks …and an Oscar. Which should have been earned for ‘Blade Runner’ in my opinion.

One of my favorites – the entire Albedo 0.39 album.
