SUEDE : MY INSATIABLE ONE (1992)

To εξαιρετικό ‘My Insatiable One’ (Andreson – Butler) ήταν b-side του πρώτου τους σινγκλ ‘The Drowners’ (1992). Κυκλοφόρησε στο άλμπουμ compilation Sci-Fi Lullabies, πέντε χρόνια αργότερα. 📀 📀 Overrated like all Britpop heroes, but not insignificant as most of them, Suede have produced notable work across the two phases of their career (1989-2003, 2010-present), earning the admiration of David Bowie himself – the primary influence of frontman Brett Anderson – from the beginning. The brilliant ‘My Insatiable One’ (Anderson – Butler) was a B-side to their debut single ‘The Drowners’ (1992). It was included in the compilation album Sci-Fi Lullabies five years later.

In the high life, I’ve got this feeling now
I’ve got this horrible feeling
On the escalator, they took it out on him
As the ridiculous world went by
Oh, he is gone
He’s my insatiable one
Oh, he is gone
He’s my insatiable one, oh
On the high wire, dressed in a leotard
There wobbles one hell of a retard
On the escalator
We shit paracetamol
As the ridiculous world goes by
Oh, he is gone
He’s my insatiable one
Oh, he is gone
He’s my insatiable one
Oh, he is gone
He’s my insatiable one
Oh, he is gone
And he was my inflatable one, oh

Thank you Resa! And you’re absolutely right about the guitar. This is a superb riff, one of the best I heard in the ’90s. Bernard Butler was the guitarist – composer of the song.

Thank you. The electronic scene, along with the one of jazz, are the only things I keep in touch with these days.
