Ο αρμονικίστας & τραγουδιστής των blues Sonny Boy Williamson II άλλαξε αρκετά ονόματα [Alex/Aleck Ford, Alex/Aleck Miller, Rice Miller, “Rice” MIller, Little Boy Blue, Little Willie] πριν καταλήξει στο όνομα που …έκλεψε από παλιότερο μπλουζίστα & αρμονικίστα του Σικάγου – εξ ου και το “II”. Είχε την τύχη να τον αγκαλιάσει η πρώτη γενιά των Άγγλων επηρεασμένων από τα blues μουσικών, κυρίως οι Yardbirds και οι Animals, η συνεργασία με τους οποίους εκτόξευσε τη φήμη του. Τoν ακούμε σ’ ένα κλασικό τραγούδι του Willie Dixon – λίγο αργότερα θα γινόταν πολύ πιο γνωστό από τους Led Zeppelin.

Blues harmonica player & singer Sonny Boy Williamson II changed several names [Alex/Aleck Ford, Alex/Aleck Miller, Rice Miller, Rice MIller, Little Boy Blue, Little Willie] before coming up with the one stolen from an older Chicago blues man and harmonica player – hence the “II.” He was fortunate enough to be embraced by the first generation of English musicians influenced by blues notably the Yardbirds and the Animals, the collaboration with whom launched his reputation. Here he is on a classic Willie Dixon song – shortly afterwards Led Zeppelin would make it widely known.
