From a classic fusion album of the ’70s, the third that John McLaughlin released with Shakti [Zakir Hussain – percussion, L Shankar – viola, violin, Vikku Vinayakram – percussion] we choose the opening track. The music carries you away like a rushing stream. The word “shocking” sounds inappropriately charged, although it’s hard to avoid it.

I have this album, but have not listened to it for years, if not decades. Listening to it now, each turn of the music sounds completely familiar to me. I think I heard this a lot during my school days. Thanks for reminding me.
