Ένα από τα πρώτα άλμπουμ που ο Ravi Shankar ηχογράφησε για τα δυτικά ακροατήρια, και μια από τις πρώτες συνεργασίες Ινδών καλλιτεχνών με μουσικούς της jazz.
Στο πρώτο κομμάτι, “Improvisations on the theme music from ‘Panther Panchali'” (μουσική του RS για την ινδική ταινία του 1955) συμμετέχει ο Αμερικανός άλτο σαξοφωνίστας και φλαουτίστας Bud Shank. Στο δεύτερο, “Fire Night” μαζί μ’ αυτόν ακούγονται οι Dennis Budimir, Gary Peacock, Louis Hayes, κιθάρα, μπάσο, ντραμς αντίστοιχα. Το ινδικό σχήμα : Kanai Dulla – tabla, Nodu C. Mullick – tampura, Harihar Rao – tampura, dholak.

One of the first albums Ravi Shankar recorded for Western audiences, and one of the earliest collaborations between Indian artists and jazz musicians.
On the first track, “Improvisations on the theme music from ‘Panther Panchali'” (RS’s music for the 1955 Indian film), American alto saxophonist and flutist Bud Shank participates. On the second track, “Fire Night”, in addition to him, there are Dennis Budimir, Gary Peacock, Louis Hayes on guitar, bass and drums respectively. The Indian ensemble: Kanai Dulla – tabla, Nodu C. Mullick – tampura, Harihar Rao – tampura, dholak.
