Perhaps it impressed me so much because I had a more static, space-like image in mind. Yours is more grounded, and at the same time more bold as an interpretation.

We were only in Athens the first night when we arrived and the last night when we left…. and I was with my sister and brother-in-law so I didn’t feel the timing was right.
