Από το You’ re Under Arrest, 4ο κατά σειρά άλμπουμ της τελευταίας περιόδου τoυ Miles Davis, διαλέγουμε τις κλασικές βερσιόν του στα τραγούδια των Michael Jackson και Cyndi Lauper. Η μπάντα εδώ : John Scofield – κιθάρα, Bob Berg – σαξόφωνο, Darryl Jones – μπάσο, Al Foster – ντραμς. 🔴 🔴 From You’re Under Arrest, the fourth album in the sequence of Miles Davis’ final period, we choose his classic versions of the songs by Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper. The band here is: John Scofield – guitar, Bob Berg – saxophone, Darryl Jones – bass, Al Foster – drums.

I particularly like their version of “True Colors.”
I assume you confused Time After Time with True Colors out of absent-mindedness. 😃 I also prefer that. I also liked the original song very much, and preferred Cyndi 100% over her supposed rival, the horrid Madonna.
I tried and tried but couldn’t find a live Miles album I’d heard and written a review about some 15 – 20 years ago. It was released in the ’00s (not a re-release but unheard material). It contains a long live version of Time After Time unlike any other I’ve heard by MD, which is beyond description – it had me literally in tears. For some reason I hadn’t ripped the album to my hard drive, nor did I keep the hard copy.
You’re right about my absentmindedness! I hope you find that live version of the song. I also agree with you about the horrid Madonna. Her singing always sounded manufactured to me. (Not to mention her various personas.)
Thank you, the only hope to find it comes from the fact that …I’ve lost all hope.
As for Madonna, you’re absolutely right : the whole concept was manufactured from day one, and its name was MTV. I always found her repellent, not only as an ‘artist’ (which she never was), but as a human being… and as a ‘woman’ as well.
You’re welcome. You must have seen photos of Madonna’s latest “face”? She looks like Pete Burns after he mutilated his face.
I honestly can’t look at Madonna’s face for some years now. But (unfortunately) I can see exactly what you mean! 😵💫
I hope you’ll be able to unsee it.
