Το γεγονός ότι το Directions είναι μια συλλογή από out takes δεν το εμποδίζει να είναι ένα ακόμα αριστούργημα. Κυκλοφορημένο το 1981, περιλαμβάνει υλικό των ‘60s. Διαλέγουμε δυο tracks : ‘Fun’ και ‘Directions II’, συνθέσεις των Miles Davis και Joe Zawinul αντίστοιχα. Released in 1981, it contains material from the ‘60s. We pick two tracks: ‘Fun’ and ‘Directions II’, written by Miles Davis and Joe Zawinul respectively. The first was recorded shortly before the sessions for Miles in the Sky, the second was an outtake from In a Silent Way. Both come from 1968 …and while ‘Fun’ is simply thrilling, in parts of ‘Directions’ someone doesn’t need much imagination to hear the band playing drum & bass, 25 years before its “invention.”
