Τις προάλλες ένα ακόμα δικαστήριο απάλλαξε τον Marilyn Manson από κατηγορίες “σεξουαλικής κακοποίησης” : ο δικηγόρος της καταγγέλλουσας Ashley Morgan Smithline, αποσύρθηκε απ’ την υπόθεση, η εν λόγω δεν κατάφερε να βρει αντικαταστάτη του. Το γιατί συνέβη αυτό είναι anybody’s guess. Ως προς την όλη υπόθεση [μπαράζ καταγγελιών], εκτυλισσόμενη μήνες τώρα, το να αναπαραγάγει κανείς τις λεπτομέρειές της είναι ακόμα πιο πληκτικό απ’ το να τις διαβάσει. Δεδομένου του ότι έχω κάνει το δεύτερο, “αρνούμαι” να κάνω το πρώτο.
Κάποιος με στοιχειώδη ιδέα των [σεξουαλικών] ηθών του “σατανιστικού” περιβάλλοντος του MM, δεν θα καταδεχόταν όχι να γελάσει, αλλά ούτε να σηκώσει το φρύδι.
Εν πάση περιπτώσει, ακούμε ένα τραγούδι από το πρώτο EP του Manson, Smells Like Children, κυκλοφορημένο το 1995. Είχε ξεσηκώσει, εύλογα, ένα πρώτο “τσουνάμι” αντιδράσεων από τους συντηρητικούς κύκλους της εποχής, θέτοντας τα θεμέλια για μια επιτυχημένη καριέρα.

Another court acquitted Marilyn Manson of “sexual abuse” charges the other day : the complainant Ashley Morgan Smithline’s lawyer withdrew from the case, and she was unable to find his replacement. Why this has happened is anybody’s guess. As for the whole case [a barrage of accusations] going on for months now, reproducing the details is even more boring than reading about them. Since I have done the second, I “refuse” to do the first.
Someone with a rudimentary idea of the [sexual] customs of the “Satanist” MM environment, would not deign to laugh, or even raise an eyebrow.
Anyway, we hear a song from Manson’s first EP Smells Like Children, released in 1995. It had, understandably, aroused a first “tsunami” of reactions from the conservative circles of the time, laying the foundation for a successful career.
