That was a very powerful performance of the old song, terrifying, in fact.
I agree and very fitting too, in my humble opinion. I also appreciate MM’s aesthetic view, hence he’s one of the rare occasions I do watch the videos. Strong and disturbing images but with great attention to detail.
The images did contribut a lot to the terror I experienced.
He’s a morbid sort of artist but he does it so well. Very talented.

I just listened to the Johnny Cash version. Just as powerful, but with an entirely different feel.
Indeed very different. Still, to me MM is ‘closer’ to the core of this song.
I have to agree. The images in the Cash video I watched (a bunch of famous people) seemed to fight the song itself.
That also put me off on that video.
