Το Piano Concerto No 20 είναι όχι μόνο το κορυφαίο του Mozart, imho, αλλά και γενικότερα, ένα από τα πιο σημαντικά πράγματα που έχω ακούσει, οποιουδήποτε συνθέτη, ανεξαρτήτως μουσικού είδους. Ο Keith Jarrett αναδεικνύεται, όχι σε υποδειγματικό (ο τίτλος ανήκει σε “τέρατα” όπως ο Geza Anda και η Mitsuko Uchida), αλλά σε άξιο ερμηνευτή του. Ακούμε το πρώτο μέρος, Allegro. Η Καντέντσα (το σόλο μέρος του πιάνου προς το τέλος) που έχει επιλέξει ο KJ είναι σύνθεση του σολίστ και μαέστρου Christian Zacharias. Το track περιέχεται στο δεύτερο από τα δυο διπλά cd με μουσική του Mozart που ο μεγάλος πιανίστας κυκλοφόρησε το 1996 και 1999 αντίστοιχα. Για μια γεύση τελειότητας, το ίδιο έργο, εδώ, από τον ουγγρο-ελβετικής καταγωγής Geza Anda, σε θέση σολίστ και μαέστρου της Ακαδημαϊκής Ορχήστρας Δωματίου του Mozarteum του Salzburg. Ερμηνεία σαφώς ανώτερη …και με καλύτερη καντέντσα – σύνθεση του ίδιου του GA. 📀 📀 📀 Piano Concerto No. 20 is not only Mozart’s greatest, imho, but also one of the most important things I ‘ve heard by any composer, regardless of genre. Keith Jarrett emerges not as an exemplary interpreter (that title belongs to “monsters” such as Géza Anda and Mitsuko Uchida), but as a worthy one of it. We are listening to the first movement, Allegro. The Cadenza (the solo piano section toward the end) that KJ has chosen is a composition by the soloist and conductor Christian Zacharias. The track is included in the second of the two double CDs of Mozart’s music that the great pianist released in 1996 and 1999, respectively. For a taste of perfection, the same work, here, by the Hungarian-Swiss Géza Anda, soloist and conductor of the Academic Chamber Orchestra of the Mozarteum in Salzburg. A definitely superior interpretation… and with a better cadenza – composed by GA himself.
