The suite for piano, clarinet and violin “The Soldier’s Tale” is a collapse by Igor Stravinsky of the theatrical play he co-wrote with the author C. F. Ramuz – the original story, an allegory, is about a soldier who sells his violin to the Devil in exchange for unlimited prosperity.

So beautiful!
There seems to be a lot of that selling of one’s soul to the Devil going around.
More than we can imagine, I’m afraid.
Unfortunately, yes.
There is an almost carnival feel at times.
Maybe Nino Rota and Fellini were inspired by this music?
There are only few people in 20th century’s music NOT inspired by Stravinsky, one way or the other…
Interesting!
I watched Mr. Shatner go up in the rocket!!!
He was thrilled and almost speechless when he came out of the capsule. Still, he managed to say a lot!
Hell of a lot I ‘d say! [not that anybody around him seemed to care much…]. Anyway I ‘m happy he survived – I was anxious somehow.
I’m thrilled! I only watched because WS was there. Couldn’t care less about the rest! I’ve got your Star Trek page up. I’ve got to do a few things, then I’m excited to listen!!!!
