GIOVANNI GABRIELI : O MAGNUM MYSTERIUM

⭐️ The eight-voice sacred motet O Magnum Mysterium by the Venetian renaissance polyphony master * Giovanni Gabrieli, is based on the eponymous Gregorian Christmas responsory. We hear it in the unparalleled performance by Musica Fiata under Roland Wilson. Church organ: Klaus Eichhorn.

* .…αλλά και των ηχητικών εφέ : το έργο είναι βασισμένο στην ιδιαίτερη ακουστική του Αγίου Μάρκου, χρησιμοποιώντας δυο χορωδίες τοποθετημένες σε αντικρυστούς εξώστες (τεχνική cori spezzati – σήμα κατατεθέν της βενετσιάνικης σχολής) ⭐️ …but also the sonic effects: the piece was composed taking advantage of the distinctive acoustics of St. Mark’s Basilica, for two choirs positioned in opposing loft (“cori spezzati” technique, a trademark of the Venetian School)

Thank you for your kind words Resa! With the New Year, God willing, I ‘ll continue uploading music from all genres. At the same time I will upload large amounts of unreleased recordings of Marina and mine. And even larger amounts of recent and new material that will be recorded exclusively for the blog!

Well, I look forward to all the music you post, but I am surely the most excited about the music you and Marina make.
            YAY!
