Ψάχνοντας μια άκρη μέσα σ’ αυτό το Rabbit Hole των ειδήσεων (η πανσπερμία “καθοριστικών γεγονότων”, κατασκευασμένων ή μη, είναι πρωτοφανής, όπως και το timing με το οποίο συμβαίνουν) και ετοιμάζοντας με όση προσοχή γίνεται ένα σημείωμα για το Σ-Κ, θυμάμαι το classic των Jefferson Airplane, σύνθεση της τραγουδίστριάς τους. Το ακούμε στη μνημειώδη, imho, διασκευή του από τον George Benson. Το φιλόδοξο ομώνυμο άλμπουμ, χωρίς να έχει κάποια μεγάλη επιτυχία, ενίσχυσε σημαντικά το προφίλ του κιθαρίστα στο ακροατήριο της jazz, γνωρίζοντάς τον καλύτερα σ’ εκείνο της ποπ. Αξίζει μια ματιά στα ονόματα των μουσικών της μπάντας στο εξώφυλο 🔴 🔴 While trying to find some thread in this Rabbit Hole of news — the sheer abundance of “decisive events,” manufactured or not, is unprecedented, as is the timing with which they occur — and carefully preparing a note about all this for the weekend, I remembered the Jefferson Airplane classic, written by their singer. We’re listening to it in George Benson’s, in my humble opinion, monumental cover version. The ambitious album by the same title, without achieving any major commercial success, significantly strengthened the guitarist’s profile among jazz audiences and introduced him more widely to pop listeners. It’s definitely worth checking the names of the musicians on the album cover.
