Το πρώτο από τα σχόλια που διαβάζεις κάτω από την εκτέλεση του αριστουργήματος του Schubert, είναι το εξής :
“In my humble view this movement is the most sublime piece of music ever written”…
The first comment you read under the performance of Schubert’s masterpiece, is the following:
“In my humble view this movement is the most sublime piece of music ever written”…
It sounds simplistic in its exaggeration, but it is an exaggeration that you “forgive” wholeheartedly, knowing the piece he is talking about. And hearing it again from the Polish Camerata Quartet [with the addition of Marta Kordykiewicz – second cello]

Sublime, yes!
It melted into my ears, and eased my spirit!
I’m glad you liked it, this is one of my favorite things of all times!
Schubert is lovely but I’m afraid classical string quartets just don’t melt me the way an orchestra can. Lovely, but not sublime!
I ‘m not a huge fan of string quartets / quintets / trios etc either, but there ‘s a great amount of exceptions. This work, especially this movement, is number one in my book!
It goes well beyond Schubert’s range itself, in my opinion, giving an idea of what this person would’ve achieved had he lived longer [it was finished 2 months before his death].
Thank you for the comment!
I certainly agree about what could have been had he not died so young. As a matter of interest, how do you rate The Trout?
Oh, don’t like it at all, to tell the truth! 😊
Ha ha how fascinating that is! It’s probably one of the few I find quite ‘pleasant’. However, if those who mourn my passing have it played at my funeral I will come back and haunt them! It’s still far from being close to ‘favourite’.
