    Sublimely beautiful. In many ways I rate Bridges over Britten – though that’s rather controversial to say!

        I studied Britten far too much during my music degrees and that perhaps has coloured my opinions. His War Requiem is a deserved masterpiece but almost everything else I could easily live without!
