FISCHER Z : MULTINATIONALS BITE [RED SKIES OVER PARADISE, 1981]

Fisher Z are one of the most interesting bands of the British new wave explosion, music and lyrics wise. It is the creative vehicle of guitarist, singer-songwriter John Watts.
We hear a song from their third album [1981].
Watts, sometimes with various incarnations of Fischer Z and sometimes solo, still releases material to this day.

You’re no anarchist
You’re not extreme.
But you threaten them.
With your dream.
So be careful.
Multinationals bite bite bite.
They’ll destroy you.
Overnight.
I hear wardrums (Picking up pieces of blood for you, now).
I hear wardrums (Picking up pieces of blood for you, now).
I hear wardrums (Picking up pieces of blood for you, now).
I hear wardrums (Picking up pieces of blood for you, now).
You don’t realise.
The extent of their power.
I can’t help you.
Anymore.
And you’ll find out.
There’s no justice.
Outside the law.
They have governments
Under control…

Can’t remember if I ever heard him, or not. There is something familiar, though?
Pretty cool sound and song in my books!

Pretty clever guy. And very interesting. He studied clinical psychology before switching to music. I remember going to a Fisher – Z concert as a …juvenile deliquent, in the early ’80s, not being allowed to enter the venue for some reason, and listening to them from the outside.
