Ένας ακόμη μέγας “αγνοημένος” του 20ου αιώνα, ο Ιταλός Ferruccio Busoni (1866-1924), διάσημος πιανίστας της εποχής του, τεράστιου βεληνεκούς συνθέτης και μέγας δάσκαλος – των Kurt Weil και Edgar Varese μεταξύ άλλων. Μουσικός που στο έργο του σναντώνται η παράδοση που συνέχιζε να τιμά, και οι εξελίξεις της ταραχώδους εποχής του, τις οποίες δεν έπαψε να αφουγκράζεται και να συνδιαμορφώνει.
Αξίζει κανείς να αναζητήσει έργα του όπως το ρομαντικό Κονσέρτο Για Πιάνο ή η όπερα Faust. Για τώρα, ακούμε το κατανυκτικό Berceuse Elegiaque (Ελεγειακό νανούρισμα), σύνθεση αφιερωμένη στη μνήμη της μητέρας του.
