I always liked and appreciated EC, I even covered a song of his with my “party band” in the ’90s [“Let It Rain”]. But I’ve never been a huge fan …until recently!
I can’t say I’ a huge fan, but I always had and listened to EC’s music. He is consistently good and a joy to listen to. I really love Cream. They produced some exceptional songs.

I’ve loved EC through every permutation of group and soloist – but how I ever missed this song, I don’t know! The best of Christmas music – we normally only get to hear trite blubble gum so thank you for featuring this

I’m a huge fan of Cream, and most of Eric’s later career.
“Layla” gives me more than shivers, it gives me shudders. (listening now)
I didn’t realize that it was written by him and Jim Gordon .. and he originally recorded it with Derek and the Dominoes.
I read in “Life” by Keith Richards that Eric was in love with Patti Boyd, George Harrison’s wife. He wrote this for her. In the end, she stayed with George.
I suppose it’s the hard core rock romance that gets to me. Still shuddering!
