Ένας λόγος που δεν μου άρεσαν οι Electric Light Orchestra είναι η “φωνή” του αρχηγέτη τους Jeff Lynne. Ένας άλλος περιέχεται στη φράση ενός Άγγλου κριτικού που έχω ξεχάσει τ’ όνομά του : “E.L.O. split because they run out of Beatles riffs”. Πομπώδη ψευδο – Beatles riffs, για την ακρίβεια.
Εν πάση περιπτώσει οι εξαιρέσεις κάνουν τη διαφορά ανάμεσα στον κανόνα και το νόμο, και μια απ’ αυτές είναι το “Daybreaker” – ίσως και γιατί αποτελεί μακρινή τηλεοπτική μου ανάμνηση [ως σήμα της τηλεοπτικής σειράς ”Μεθοριακός Σταθμός” στα middle ‘ – late ’70s]

One reason I disliked Electric Light Orchestra was the “voice” of their leader Jeff Lynne. Another one is contained in the phrase of a British critic who’s name I don’t recall : “E.L.O. split because they run out of Beatles riffs”. Pompous pseudo – Beatles riffs, to be more specific.
In any case, there’s always some exceptions, and in this case it’s “Daybreaker” – maybe because it is a distant TV memory of mine [it was the title track of a TV series in the middle ‘ – late ’70s]
