To 2005 κυκλοφορεί το άλμπουμ Not In Our Name του Charlie Haden με τη 12μελή Liberation Music Orchestra. Ο τίτλος παραπέμπει στην ομώνυμη οργάνωση που είχε δημιουργηθεί 3 χρόνια πριν, ως αντίδραση στη μιλιταριστική πολιτική των ΗΠΑ μετά την επίθεση της 9/11 : το άλμπουμ περιλαμβάνει μεταξύ άλλων αμερικανικούς ύμνους όπως το Amazing Grace και το America The Beautiful, διασκευασμένους από την Carla Bley (ενορχηστρώτρια του άλμπουμ) Διαλέγουμε από εδώ το ομώνυμο κομμάτι, σύνθεση του κορυφαίου κοντραμπασίστα – leader, και το ‘This Is Not America’ (Bowie/Metheny). 🟡 🟡 In 2005, Charlie Haden released the album Not In Our Name with his 12-piece Liberation Music Orchestra. The title refers to the organization by the same name created three years earlier, as a reaction to the militaristic US policy following the 9/11 attacks. The album includes, among others, American hymns such as Amazing Grace and America The Beautiful, rearranged by Carla Bley (the album’s orchestrator). We pick from here the title track written by the great bassist – bandleader, and Bowie / Metheny’s ‘This Is Not America’.
