Έξω από το στερεότυπο του “κακού παιδιού”, και της μονολιθικότητας που καθόρισε μουσικά το punk ως είδος, ο Pete Shelley, front man των Buzzcocks, singer-songwriter με φλέβα αυθεντικού ποπ συνθέτη, έδωσε μερικά λαμπρά δείγματα γραφής της περιόδου. Όπως αυτά που ακούμε, από το Love Bites του 1978 – δεύτερο άλμπουμ του γκρουπ, από όπου το πιο γνωστό τραγούδι τους, Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve?).

Outside the “bad boy” stereotype, and the monolithic music style which defined punk as a genre, Buzzcocks’ front man Pete Shelley, singer-songwriter with a flair of genuine pop composer, gave some of the brilliant examples of the period. Like the ones we hear from 1978’s Love Bites – the band’s second album, from which came out their most well-known song, Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve?)’
