“Η Beatie Wolfe είναι μια Αγγλοαμερικανίδα εννοιολογική καλλιτέχνιδα και συνθέτρια που περιγράφεται ως «musical weirdo and visionary», γνωστή για την διαφορετική οπτική της στη μουσική και για τη δημιουργία νέων μορφών για τη μουσική και την τέχνη στην ψηφιακή εποχή. Η παρουσίαση από την Wikipedia της συνεργάτιδας του Brian Eno συνεχίζεται “συναρπαστικά” στο ίδιο μήκος κύματος. Η αίσθηση είναι ότι έχουμε να κάνουμε με άτομο φυτεμένο στο χώρο μιας ούτως ή άλλως αγνώριστης μουσικής βιομηχανίας, με τη μουσική φανερά (όχι …κρυφά όπως πρώτα) εργαλειοποιημένη στην υπηρεσία συγκεκριμένης ατζέντας. Η Beatie Wolfe είναι η Greta Thunberg της εναλλακτικής ποπ, “κάτι σαν μουσικός” που κάνει “στρατευμένη τέχνη”. Η συνεργασία του Eno μαζί της δεν εκπλήσσει όσους γνωρίζουν τις οικολογικές / περιβαλλοντικές ανησυχίες του συνεργάτη του Γιάννη Βαρουφάκη.
Τα πράγματα δεν είναι άσπρο-μαύρο και, σε πείσμα των παραπάνω ο δίσκος δεν στερείται ενδιαφέροντος, ξεφεύγοντας από τα “στάνταρ” της Wolfe. Το ποιος ευθύνεται φυσικά γι’ αυτό δε χρειάζεται σκέψη, ακούμε απλώς ένα από τα καλύτερα κομμάτια του.

The Wikipedia entry about Brian Eno’s collaborator continues “fascinatingly” in the same vein. The impression is that we are dealing with a planted figure in the realm of an already obscure music industry, with music overtly (no longer covertly as before) instrumentalized in service of a specific agenda. Beatie Wolfe is the Greta Thunberg of alternative pop, “something like a musician” who creates “activist art”. Eno’s collaboration with her comes as no surprise to those familiar with the ecological/environmental concerns of Yanis Varoufakis’s associate.
Things are not black-and-white, and despite the above, the album is not without interest, breaking away from BW’s “standards.” Naturally, it doesn’t take much thought to figure out who is responsible for this—we are simply listening to one of his best pieces.
