Ενα απ τα καλλιτερα κομματια που εχω ακουσει ποτε ειναι το εκτος γραμμης synth-driven επικολυρικον Shooting Shark του ’83 οπου ακομα κι εκει ο Buck κανει τα δικα του.. Πραγματικα με φορτιζει συναισθηματικα αυτο το κομματι αν και ξερω οτι δεν το εκτιμουν ιδιαιτερα oi regular fans .. Aυτο ηταν κι η αιτια που εψαξα περισσοτερο και αλλα αλμπουμ αυτου του καταπληκτικου γκρουπ ..
Ωραίο κομμάτι είναι, άσχετα αν οι BOC έχουν απομακρυνθεί τελείως από αυτό που ήταν κάποτε. Τα ’80s ήταν αμείλικτα, αλλά δεν θα μπορούσαν να μην υπάρχουν διάφορα αριστουργηματάκια και τότε. Εμένα μου άρεσαν πολύ [και χόρευα μ’ αυτά ] ακόμα και διάφορα ντίσκο “εποχής”.

Θυμάμαι να χορεύω μ’ αυτό με παρέα του στιλ Ιάκωβος, Ηρακλεία etc, το καλοκαίρι ’83 στην GTS στην παραλιακή – δεν ξέρω αν την πρόλαβες.
Εμ πως δεν την προλαβα , χα χα .. Kαι την ντισκο στο υπογειο του Χανδρη θυμαμαι να προλαβα λιγο! Τοτε που ακουγες το ιδιο playlist για κανενα χρονο ας πουμε , ηταν πιο δυσκολο τοτε να ενημερωθει και να προμηθευτει τα βινυλια ο εκαστοτε (συνηθως και ψιλοαδιαφορος ) dj .. Aλλα γι αυτο και γινονταν καποια κομματια global hits , γιατι παιζοταν περισσοτερο χρονο στα ραδιοφωνα και στις ντισκο .. Το συγκεκριμενο κομματι αγαπημενο και στεκεται μια χαρα ακομα και σημερα , αν δεν κανω λαθος Γερμανοι ηταν αυτοι .. Αχ , μου χουν λειψει αυτα τα killer riffs οπως εδω στο συνθι που εκαναν ενα κομματι instant classic καποτε , χε χε ..
Αληθεια θυμασαι κανεναν dj απο τοτε ?
Αν εννοείς από Χίο, θυμάμαι φάτσες, αλλά ονόματα όχι αυτή τη στιγμή – κάποια άλλη ίσως θα τα θυμόμουν και αυτά. Το κομματάκι πάντως, επειδή το ξανάκουσα, όχι μόνο είναι λίαν “λειτουργικό” [όχι μόνο επί αναμνησιακής βάσεως] αλλά, και αυτό το συνειδητοποίησα μόλις, τόσα χρόνια μετά, θα μπορούσε με διαφορετικό ηχητικό treatment να είναι κομμάτι του Bryan Ferry – μπορώ κάλλιστα να τον “ακούσω” να το τραγουδάει.
Παρεμπιπτόντως, ένα ακόμα από τα “αθάνατα” των ’80s το “Don’t You Forget About Me” το είχαν προτείνει αρχικά σ’ αυτόν, αλλά …αρνήθηκε λόγω “ανειλημμένων υποχρεώσεων” – υποθέτω μετά θα μούντζωνε τον εαυτό του και με τα δύο χέρια.
Η πλάκα είναι ότι …και οι Simple Minds το σνόμπαραν. Σε συνέντευξη που τους είχα κάνει στα early ’90s, μου είπαν : “στην αρχή δεν μας άρεσε καθόλου. Με το που εγκαταστάθηκε στο τοπ, αρχίσαμε να το συμπαθούμε. Εν τέλει, μετά από τόσο καιρό που έμεινε στο Νο 1 …το αγαπήσαμε” [γέλια]. Μου είχε φανεί άδικη απάντηση, έστω και ως χιούμορ, για το καημένο το τραγουδάκι. Το οποίο, σε πείσμα του ότι έγινε μαϊντανός παγκοσμίως, είναι συγκλονιστικό.
Xθες για καποιο λογο μου εβγαλε πινακακι “ο ιστοτοπος ειναι υπο ανακατασκευη” η’ κατι τετοιο και εχασα επαφη οποτε σημερα ειδα τι μου εγραψες ..
Δεν το ηξερα οτι το “don t you .” δεν ειναι συνθεση των S.MINDS .. Kαπως ξενερωσα , γιατι θελουμε παντα οι ‘ηρωες” μας να ειναι αψεγαδιαστοι , χα χα.. Ωστοσο εχω την αισθηση οτι αν δεν το εκαναν δικο τους, προσαρμοζοντας το στο υφος τους , δεν πιστευω να ειχε γινει απο καποιον αλλο τοσο μεγαλο χιτ..
Οπως και να χει καποια τραγουδια ειναι πιο “μεγαλα” απο καποια αλλα ..
Ας πουμε παρ ολο που εχεις μπουχτισει υποθετω τοσα χρονια , αν εχεις χρονο δωσε μια ευκαιρια σ αυτα τα δυο που ερχονται απο κατι πουθεναδες στην Αμερικη οιυ για μενα ειναι μεγαλα τραγουδια ..

Οι “πουθενάδες” είναι, θα έλεγα, συγκινητική περίπτωση. Δεν τους ήξερα και θα τους ψάξω. THANKS!
Παρεμπιπτόντως το πρώτο πράγμα που σκέφτηκα ακούγοντάς τους είναι ότι θα ήταν ακόμα καλύτεροι με ένα καλύτερο παραγωγό και ένα καλύτερο ντράμερ. Ντράμερ απ’ ότι τσέκαρα είναι η χοντρούλα [ελπίζω να μην παρεξηγηθώ ως …χονδροφοβικός σαν τον Κραουνάκη, a cetacean himself].
…Και δεν έχω μπουχτίσει, δόξα τω Θεώ, καθόλου. Απλώς υπάρχει ένας κάπως ευρύς κύκλος ενδιαφερόντων – αναγνωσμάτων, ακροάσεων από διάφορα είδη μουσικής κτλ. – που σε εμποδίζει να έχεις σε κάθε ένα από αυτά πλήρη εποπτεία. Για να μη μιλήσω για τη “συνθετική μου δραστηριότητα” η οποία εκ των πραγμάτων απορροφά κάποιες ώρες την μέρα.
Το θέμα στο οποίο αφιερώνω τη μικρότερη προσπάθεια είναι, ομολογουμένως, τα νέα γκρουπ [μιλάω για ροκ, γιατί από jazz είμαι ενήμερος].
Γεγονός είναι ότι σπάνια ακούω κάτι από νέο ροκ που να με ιντριγκάρει, όπως πχ. αυτοί που μου έστειλες. Για να μη μιλήσω για το μηδενικό impact που έχουν πλέον τέτοια γκρουπ στη σημερινή, τελείως fucked up κατάσταση πραγμάτων.
Αλλά ο κύριος λόγος είναι ότι υπάρχει το χάος της κλασικής, συνθέτες που “απαιτούν” αφοσίωση και όλο και επιπλέον εμπέδωση & επανανακάλυψη – ακόμα και κάποιοι που τους ακούς μια ζωή ας πούμε.
