This particular message lies exclusively in the Bessie Smith version. The overall message of the song has to do with the right to do and say what you will, without having someone calling you names all the time.
The fact that some people treat their lovers/wives/husbands horribly and even violently SHOULDN’T be addressed by social justice warriors movements, according to my opinion. Their “solutions” [which lead to total censorship and totalitarianism] is an issue much worse than the problem itself.

Ειδικά ρε φίλε αυτό το σιχαμένο καρφί τη Μπεκατώρου όσο τη βλέπω άλλο τόσο μου γυρνάνε τάντερα..
Κι εμένα το ίδιο μου προκαλεί απ’ το λίγο που την έχω δει. Είναι βέβαια από τα άτομα που με το που τα βλέπω αλλάζω κανάλι αυτομάτως.
Όλο αυτό βγήκε, υποθέτω, για να συνδυαστεί με την “έξαρση σεξουαλικών παρενοχλήσεων μέσα στο σπίτι”, πράγμα που θα ευαισθητοποιήσει ακόμα περισσότερο τα φεμινιστικά αντανακλαστικά εναντίον της πατριαρχίας.
Στο πλαίσιο πάντα του κόνσεπτ “ασφάλεια πουθενά. Σας πάμε πίπα – κώλο γιατί μας παίρνει”.
