ANTONIO VIVALDI [1678 – 1741] : STABAT MATER

Stabat Mater, a medieval hymn to Virgin Mary’s suffering for her son’s crucifixion, has been an inspiration for numerous composers throughout history. One of them is Antonio Vivaldi. We hear most of his Stabat Mater.
The countertenor
David Daniels and the ensemble Europa Galante are conducted by Fabio Biondi.

I really liked the final piece…Amen. I found the voice hypnotic in that one. The entire piece is hypnotic.
All in all the compositions are enjoyable in their melancholy.

Thank you for sharing this, Resa. it is a little bit minimal, but that’s the “secret” behind this work.
