Ο Alice σε ένα all – time classic στιγμιότυπο από τα early ‘70s, και το άλμπουμ με το οποίο έγινε διάσημος.
Alice in one of his all-time classic moments from the early ‘70s, and the album that made him famous.
I couldn’t tell
If the bells were getting louder
The songs they ring I finally recognize
I only know hell is getting hotter
Devil’s getting smarter all the time
And it would be nice
To walk upon the water
To talk again to angels
On my side
Time is getting closer
I read it on a poster
Fanatical exposers
On corners prophesied
It would be nice
To walk upon the water
To talk again to angels
At my side
I just come back to show you
All my words are golden
So have no Gods before me
I’m the light
I was gone for fourteen days I coulda been gone for more
Held up in the intensive care ward lyin’ on the floor
I was gone for all those days but I was not all alone
I made friends with a lot of people in the danger zone
See my lonely life unfold I see it every day see my only mind explode since I’ve gone away
I think I lost some weight there and I I’m sure I need some rest
Sleepin’ don’t come very easy in a straight white vest
Should like to see that little children she’s only four years old old
I’d give her back all of her playthings even even the ones I stole
See my lonely life unfold I see it everyday see my lonely mind explode when I’ve gone insane
I wanna get outta here I wanna get outta here I I’ve gotta I’ve gotta get outta here
I I gotta get out of here I gotta get out of here I gotta get outta here I gotta get outta here
Ya gotta let me out of here let me outta here I gotta get outta here I gotta get outta here
See my lonely life unfold I see it everyday see my only mind explode blow up in my face
I grabbed my hat and I got my coat and I I ran into the street
I saw a man that was choking there I guess he couldn’t breathe
Said to myself this is very strange I’m glad it wasn’t me
But now I hear those sirens callin’ and so I am not free
I didn’t wanna be I didn’t wanna be I didn’t wanna be see my lonely life unfold I didn’t wanna be
Leave me alone I didn’t wanna be don’t touch me see my lonely mind explode when I’ve gone insane

Not sure there’s any one/music more appropriate to these pandemic days!
Gotta love Alice!
Alice is where I started, as a little boy. Old loves die hard!
Thank you very much!
I just listened to the song, which I hadn’t heard in years. The album came out when I was in high school. It caused quite a stir!
I was 12 or 13 years old when I first heard Alice Cooper, and I’ve loved him ever since. I’ve had different boa constrictors through the years and I still have a very large boa constrictor, so I always felt a common link with Alice Cooper’s use of boa constrictors in his live shows. I have most of his albums through the 80s on vinyl. My daughter has my vinyl collection.
I love this song. It’s like a precursor to Welcome to My Nightmare, which is a brilliant album. This song is perfect for how people feel locked down and locked out, forced into the government straight jackets with the stipulations of “do as I say, not as I do”, drink the Kool-Aid, take the shots, or be put away, shamed, denied all civil rights, denied one’s livelihood. Alice Cooper really seems to understand liberty and loss of liberty.
Cooper’s hallucinations in the song reminded me of this article in the Brooklyn Vegan about Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh battle with covid: https://www.brooklynvegan.com/devos-mark-mothersbaugh-on-harrowing-covid-19-battle-time-meant-nothing/.
Same here, Alice was my first “idol”, at 12.
I love Devo also [even more!], and I ‘m happy Mark’s recovered.
Thanks for the link!
LOVE!!!
Classic, for sure!
