HERBIE HANCOCK : SUITE REVENGE (1974)

📀 📀 The soundtrack for the first Death Wish movie (Michael Winner, 1974 – Charles Bronson) was composed by Herbie Hancock. From this we hear Suite Revenge – a track light years ahead of its time, like everything the great musician did during this era.

From what I remember of seeing the movie, the score carried it, not the acting.

This has always been the role of music in cinema: to provide rhythm and intensity, even where they are absent.
And not only in cinema—in The Mall, in restaurants, in supermarkets. When “All the world’s a stage”, there must be background music everywhere. Everybody’s living off music parasitically! 😃

Hmm, it never occurred to me that I might be living off music parasitically!

You and I don’t, we just take advantage of it. But various “professionals” do.
