📀 📀 For fans of the genre and beyond, two pieces by Scott Joplin, orchestrated by Marvin Hamlisch for the soundtrack of The Sting (1973). Yet another triumph for Newman-Redford, directed once again by George Roy Hill.

I love that my radio station played the music from all of Robert Redford’s music. I will go back to your other posts, as well as I love them all. This one in particular. Lovely share!
Great movie, great score!!
It is because of this film – and this film alone – that I fell in love with playing Scott Joplin’s music. Solace, in particularly, has been a joy to learn and it is one of the most beautiful piano pieces I know of. The movie also has fond memories for me because it is one of many that I showed to my children as they were growing up. It’s one of the few that, today now they’re adults, we all agree was a fantastic film. I caught them at the right age – they knew what was happening and never saw the ending coming!
Well said Ken! I also have great love for Scott Joplin’s music …and for hot jazz from that era and later on!
Love this music!
Love the movie!
What a winner, thank you!
