Μια από τις πιο σημαντικές και αξιοσέβαστες φυσιογνωμίες της σύγχρονης jazz, είναι ο μπασίστας – συνθέτης Steve Swallow. Από τις άπειρες, πρώτης διαλογής συνεργασίες του μπορούμε να αναφέρουμε δειγματοληπτικά τους Gary Burton, Stan Getz, Paul Bley, Art Farmer, Paul Motian, Pat Metheny και φυσικά την Carla Bley, σύντροφό του από τα early ’80s. Το άλμπουμ Home ηχογραφήθηκε για την ECM στα τέλη των ’70s. Ο Lyle Mays συμετέχει παίζοντας συνθεσάιζερ.

One of the most important and respectable figures of contemporary jazz is the bassist – composer Steve Swallow. From his infinite, first-rate collaborations we can randomly mention Gary Burton, Stan Getz, Paul Bley, Art Farmer, Paul Motian, Pat Metheny and of course Carla Bley, his romantic partner since the early ’80s. The album Home was recorded for ECM in the late 1970s. Lyle Mays joins playing synthesizer.
