Η περί “μεταμέλειας” αποστροφή των Ιρανών, στην οποία οδηγήθηκαν οι Αμερικανοί χάρη στη ρωμαλέα αντίστασή τους …μου θύμισε το Kanon Pokajanen (Κανών Μετανοίας) του πατέρα του θρησκευτικού μινιμαλισμού, Arvo Pärt.Το ωκεάνειων προδιαγραφών χορωδιακό έργο του μεγάλου Εσθονού, σύνθεση του 1994, βασίζεται στον Ορθόδοξο Κανόνα Μετανοίας προς τον Κύριον ημών Ιησούν Χριστόν. Ακούμε δυο αποσπάσματα του, Ωδή IVκαι Προσευχή Μετά Τον Κανόνα,από την έκδοση της ECM, κυκλοφορία του 1998 (Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, διεύθυνση Tõnu Kaljuste). 🟣 🟣 The Iranians’ rhetoric of “repentance,” to which the Americans were led thanks to their robust resistance …reminded me of the Kanon Pokajanen (Canon of Repentance) by the father of religious minimalism, Arvo Pärt. This oceanic-scale choral work by the great Estonian, composed in 1994 (and completed in 1997), is based on the Orthodox Canon of Repentance to Our Lord Jesus Christ. We hear two excerpts from it: Ode IV and the Prayer after the Canon, from the 1998 ECM release performed by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under the direction of Tõnu Kaljuste.
