Το Βρώμικο Ψωμί είναι το αγαπημένο μου του ΔΣ, μαζί με το Μπάλο. Μια συνεπής αναφορά σ’ αυτό θα επέβαλε το ανέβασμα του εν όλω. Παραλείπω τα δυο χιλιοακουσμένα all-time classics, ‘Ζεϊμπέκικο’ και ‘Δημοσθένους Λέξη’, με μια σημείωση ως προς το πρώτο : η “ευρηματική” ανάθεσή του τραγουδιού στη Μπέλου, προς επίτευξη του πολυπόθητου crossover υπήρξε μια αποτυχημένη ιδέα, κατά την ταπεινή μου άποψη – σε πείσμα του τι ευρύτερα πιστεύεται.
Πέρα από το μνημειώδες ‘Ελσα Σε Φοβάμαι’, και τη ‘Μαύρη Θάλασσα’ (απορίας άξιον το πώς έχει περάσει ουσιαστικά στη Λήθη – αρκεί να ακούσει κάποιος το φλάουτο και τα φωνητικά της Στέλλας Γαδέδη για να καταλάβει τι εννοώ) ακούμε δυο ακόμα υποτιμημένα μικρά αριστουργήματα από το Βρώμικο Ψωμί : ‘Το Μωρό’, με τις τζεθροταλικές του πινελιές και το αγαπημένο μου, ψυχεδελοδημοτικών προδιαγραφών ‘Τραγούδι’. 🔵 🔵 🔵 Dirty Bread is my favorite DS album, alongside Balos. A consistent reference to it would necessitate its complete inclusion. I’m leaving out the two endlessly played all-time classics, ‘Zeibekiko’ and ‘Dimosthenous Lexi’. Beyond the monumental ‘Elsa, I Fear You’ and ‘Black Sea’ (it’s astonishing how it has essentially faded into obscurity—just listen to the flute of vocals by Stella Gadedi to see what I mean), we hear two more underappreciated little jewels from Dirty Bread : ‘The Baby’, with its Jethro Tull-like touch, and my favorite, the folk-psychedelic oriented ‘Song’.

I agree very much with the third song having that Jethro Tull feel, but I’m confused by the title. You called it ‘The Baby’ but isn’t it ‘Black Sea’? I think I’m confused by the titles of the playlist not being in the same order as your naming of them in English. Nonetheless, it’s the third song that is like straight out of the JT collection!
‘The Baby‘ (in Greek : ‘Το Μωρό’) is the 4th and last one of the medley, and has also a Jethro Tull-like feel, like ‘Black Sea‘ which is the third one (on the tracklist below they’re in the right order!).
The reason I refer to ‘Elsa‘ and ‘Black Sea‘ first (which may give the impression that ‘The Baby’ comes third…) is that those two are much more known than the other two. Thank you for listening!
