THE BYRDS : WHY (1967)

Another excellent proposal from
stcigar, this time from the ’60s and the album Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds. The song was composed by David Crosby / Roger McGuinn.

Keep sayin’ no to her since she was a baby
Keep sayin’ no to her, not even maybe
Why?
Why?
You say there’s a limit there, she can’t go past that
She don’t believe you, she don’t think that’s where it’s at
Why?
Why?
Say she can’t change that, it’s the way you’ve always done it
She don’t care about that, she thinks you’ve just begun it
Why?
Why?
You say it’s a dead old world, cold and unforgiving
I don’t know where you live but you’re not living
Why?
Why?
Keep sayin’ no to her since she was a baby
Keep sayin’ no to her, not even maybe
Why?
Why?

You seem to have stopped doing your music posts! I hope everything is ok 🙂

We are in the middle of a massive move! We just moved to a new house and now comes the “easy part” of reinstalling everything in its new place – including countless books, cds, music instruments and a home studio. 🤪
I had planned a tribute to French composers (pop, jazz, classical) for the Olympics, not realizing how difficult it ‘d be to actually make it. 😦
I ‘ll be able to post some of that, God willing, starting this weekend.
      Thanks for asking! 🙂

Ah I did wonder if it was because you’ve been moving. Having just done it myself in December, you have my sympathies. I hope you guys settle in soon. I look forward to your posts when you’re ready!

Thanks a lot Ken! One of the things I’m gonna do as soon as we settle in, is start recording a vast number of unreleased tracks which I’ll also post.

Love The Byrds. They were of their times, and had message in many of their songs.
Crosby & McGuinn went on to greater heights.
