Η καθιερωμένη περιήγηση στα [social] media με έκανε να αισθανθώ σαν τον τύπο στο φινάλε του The Meaning Of Life [Monty Pythons – 1983] : μπουκωμένος μέχρι σκασμού με διάφορα καλούδια αρχίζει να “ραντίζει” με εμετό τον γύρω χώρο.
The usual [social] media browsing made me feel like the guy in The Meaning Of Life [Monty Pythons – 1983] closing section : stuffed to the point of bursting with various goodies he finally starts “sprinkling” vomit all around the place.
Right after that I remembered this song from Exotic Birds And Fruit.
Not only Gary Brooker, but also Keith Reid [lyricist] belongs to the league of greats.
Psychiatrists and lawyers destroying mankind
Driving them crazy and stealing them blind
Bankers and brokers ruling the world
Storing the silver and hoardin’ the gold
Ain’t no use in preachers preaching
When they don’t know what they’re teaching
Weakest man, be strong as Samson
When you’re being held to ransom
Famine and hardship in true living colour
Constant reminders, the plight of our brother
Daily starvation, our diet of news
Fed to the teens with a barrage of views
Ain’t no use in preachers preaching
When they don’t know what they’re preaching
Weakest man, be strong as Samson
When you’re being held to ransom
Black men and white men, and Arabs and Jews
Causing congestion and filling the queues
Fighting for freedom the truth and the word
Fighting the war for the end of the world
Ain’t no use in preachers preaching
When they don’t know what they’re teaching
Weakest man, be strong as Samson
When you’re being held to ransom
Ain’t no use in preachers preaching
When they don’t know what they’re teaching
Weakest man, be strong as Samson
When you’re being held to ransom
Ain’t no use
Ain’t no use
Ain’t no use
Strong as Samson
When you’re being held to ransom

They were a great band, but were overshadowed by “A Whiter Shade of Pale”.
To tell the truth, “A Whiter Shade Of Pale’ was one of my less favorite songs of them. The “Salty Dog” album for example is a total masterpiece from start to finish!
Agree about “Salty Dog”.
I have come to appreciate your listening beyond the hits. Your music selections have enriched my life. I love it here!
