Ο ελληνικής καταγωγής Michael Alden Hadreas, ευρύτερα γνωστός ως Perfume Genius αναφέρεται συχνά, σε δηλώσεις και τραγούδια, στην ομοφυλοφιλική του ιδιότητα, και στα δεινά που έχει υποστεί σε ένα “εχθρικό για τους gay κόσμο”. Μπορεί κανείς με ασφάλεια να ισχυριστεί ότι έχει εκμεταλλευτεί τα παραπάνω …for publicity reasons.

One can safely claim he’s taken advantage of the above … for publicity reasons. So I could easily dislike the guy under other circumstances: that is, if he wasn’t one of the most talented American singer-songwriters of his generation. We hear a song from his fifth album, released this year.
