PENDERECKI : SYMPHONY No 7 “SEVEN GATES OF JERUSALEM”

Η 7η Συμφωνία του Krzysztof Penderecki – επρόκειτο αρχικά να έχει τη μορφή ορατόριου – γράφτηκε το 1996 για τον εορτασμό της τρίτης χιλετηρίδας της Ιερουσαλήμ. Ακούμε το πρώτο από τα επτά της μέρη : Magnus Dominus et laudabilis nimis in civitate – βασισμένο στον Ψαλμό 48

Krzysztof Penderecki’s 7th Symphony – originally conceived as an oratorio – was written in 1996 for the celebration of Jerusalem’s third millennium. We hear the first of its seven parts : Magnus Dominus et laudabilis nimis in civitate – after Psalm 48

    I can hardly believe how new this is. I didn’t realize this type of music was still being written. Very cool!

        Amazing! Every time I hear Zappa’s name I get a bit misty. What he “might have done” is a heart breaker.
