Το πρώτο soundtrack που κυκλοφόρησε από μέλος των Beatles δεν είναι όπως πιστεύεται, το Wonderwall Music του Harisson [1968] αλλά αυτό εδώ, κυκλοφορημένο ένα χρόνο νωρίτερα. Πρόκειται για τη μουσική για το αγγλικό φιλμ The Family Way [Roy Boulting, 1966]. H συνεργασία του Paul McCartney – βασικό θέμα – με τον George Martin – παραλλαγές, ενορχήστρωση – πραγματοποιήθηκε αμέσως πριν απ’ τα studio sessions του Sgt. Pepper’s.
Κατά την άποψή μου, το χαμηλών τόνων έργο αποτελεί ένα είδος εξαιρετικά λειτουργικής ambient music.
The first soundtrack released by a member of the Beatles is not as believed, Harisson’s Wonderwall Music [1968] but this one, released a year earlier. It’s the music for the English film The Family Way [Roy Boulting, 1966]. The collaboration between Paul McCartney – basic theme – and Geroge Martin – variations, arrangement – took place right before Sgt. Pepper’s studio sessions.
Imho, this low-key work is a kind of highly functional ambient music.
