We will hear some songs of childhood nostalgia, written by well-known artists, or not very much so.
We start with one of my favorite Neil Young‘s songs.
There is a town in north Ontario,
With dream comfort memory to spare,
And in my mind
I still need a place to go,
All my changes were there.
Blue, blue windows behind the stars,
Yellow moon on the rise,
Big birds flying across the sky,
Throwing shadows on our eyes.
Leave us
Helpless, helpless, helpless
Baby can you hear me now?
The chains are locked
and tied across the door,
Baby, sing with me somehow.
Blue, blue windows behind the stars,
Yellow moon on the rise,
Big birds flying across the sky,
Throwing shadows on our eyes.
Leave us
Helpless, helpless, helpless.

I came to love Neil Young rather late. I was anti-nasal singer at one point – so he and Bob Dylan were both out! 😉
Now? I absolutely love him (and Bob). Guess maturity came in to play 🙂
I can relate with what you say about nasal voices. Not exactly those two but … so many others!
Ahh, love this. Also, he’s probably the only musician who ever mentioned north Ontario, perhaps Ontario.
Rugged beauty abounds!
It’s one of my favorite songs of all time. Thank you!
