Λίγη ακόμα “μουσική για πάρτυ”, αλλιώς, ένα ακόμα συνθετικό tour-de-force του 20χρονου Wolfgang. Αφορμή η παραγγελία του παιδικού του φίλου Sigmund Haffner για το γάμο της αδελφής του Marie Elizabeth. Ένας ακόμα θρίαμβος θα συντελείτο 6 χρόνια αργότερα με την περίφημη Συμφωνία Haffner: θα ξεκινούσε και αυτή ως Σερενάτα, παραγγελία του ίδιου ατόμου – αλλά αυτή είναι μια άλλη ιστορία.

A little more “party music”, in other words, another compositional tour-de-force by Wolfgang, 20 years of age. This was commissioned by his childhood friend Sigmund Haffner on the occasion of his sister Marie Elizabeth’s wedding. Another triumph would occur 6 years later with the famous Haffner Symphony: it would also start as a Serenade, commissioned by the same person – but that’s another story.
We hear the abundant in musical ideas first part of Haffner Serenade, Allegro Maestoso, Allegro Molto. Colin Davis is conducting the Bavarian Radio Orchestra.
