MICHAEL WOLLNY TRIO : LITTLE PERSON [WELTENTRAUM, 2014]

Michael Wollny Trio [Tim Lefebvre – bass, Eric Schaefer – drums] στο τραγούδι του Jon Brion από το σάουντρακ της ταινίας Synecdoche, New York του 2008.

German born Michael Wollny is one of the most interesting cases in modern jazz piano – perhaps the most important on European ground. I’ve been watching him since the early ’00s and his musicality in combing off-limits influences [from atonal and avant garde jazz to rock and pop hits] hasn’t stop to fascinate me.
We hear Michael
Wollny Trio‘s version [Tim Lefebvre – bass, Eric Schaefer – drums] of Jon Brion‘s song from the soundtrack of the 2008 film Synecdoche, New York.

He is not always like this. At times he can be very intriguing and forward thinking…one of the most interesting musicians I’ve taken notice of, the last two decades.
      Thank you!

Cool! You are the most versed person I know. I come here for the oldies, classics, classical and the new! You are so great staying up with the music scene. I am not, and I am thrilled to get to know music newer than 2000, and older than 1920!
